About Our Firm
David Cormia has practiced as a CPA since 1974 in Milwaukee and San Jose. Over the past 40 years he has worked for several companies, both as a CPA and in other capacities. This background has given David a wealth of business knowledge that he is now able to use to benefit his clients. At the same time, he has developed a special affinity for working with technology which he uses to greatly increase his productivity and the productivity of his clients.
Initially working with Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young), David developed life-long disciplines that helped him develop skills outside of public accounting. During his career David has held positions as information technology director, worldwide sales and marketing manager for several software companies, and as a major accounts manager where he worked closely with IBM, Hewlett-Packard, PeopleSoft, and other technology companies. In each role, his accounting background enabled him to be more successful in his dealings with those companies.
For over a decade, David has been performing ERISA / 401(k) plan audits – both as an associate within local CPA firms, and later with his own practice. This is a highly specialized field for which he has taken great care to study and learn the requirements. In early 2004, David established his own firm specializing in performing Employee Benefit Plan audits in the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Reno / Tahoe area with the following goals:
- Provide high quality, low cost Employee Benefit / 401(k) plan audits in the shortest time possible.
- Assist clients with filing of Form 5500’s related to both Pension and Employee Benefit Plans, including related Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program (DFVC) filings.
- Provide expert individual, partnership, corporate, estate, and trust tax planning and preparation
